GOP group warns donors Trump will find out if they opt out of monthly donations

The political arm of House Republicans, National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), has introduced a pre-checked recurring donation box on its donation page with a message for donors. The message reads: ’UNCHECK this box, we’ll have to tell Trump you’re a DEFECTOR & sided with the Dems.’ The message adds, ’Check this box if you want Trump to run again.’

That's pretty hostile. Why does this toxic hostility appeal to republicans? Make politics so gross to be part of that nobody decent wants to take part?

Trump is not a Republican. He is a political outsider, and as a New York businessman he most likely was a centrist Democrat up until maybe fifteen years ago. Both sides of the entrenched elite are grifters and swamprats, it does not surprise me in the least that these out-of-touch career politicians are playing games with their donation setup.

Interesting how the media and everybody else keeps saying it is Trump that is divisive but the way I see it, it is everyone else that tries to threaten people, fear monger, and scare people to be against Trump or ELSE

That's grotesque. He's too old to run again anyway. The GOP sound desperate because they know that Trump represented something their party isn't really about and they know they'll hemorrhage support now.

Anyone still giving money to this “billionaire “ who bragged about funding his own campaign needs to have their head checked.

It sounds like they are joking by saying they will tell Trump you are a defector. Not a great joke, and easily misinterpreted, but I doubt it is meant to be taken seriously.

If Trump makes his own party, The Republicans are fo0ked. America needs a party with decent people in it. The reps with Trump have been the best so far, the Dems the worst.

That would automatically compel me to uncheck it just on principal. I don’t donate to any of them anyway, but Who cares what they tell Trump or any other politician? They aren’t God.

They say there's a sicker born every day that's so true. What do republicans think trump is doing with that money that they donate to his cause? Well if you don't know you'd better call sombody.

What shmucks these GOP guys are. How many people have they conned! These aren’t monthly donations more like weekly- like what happened to Stacy Blatt who was in hospice care on a fixed income and went to make a one time donation of 500. Instead was charged 500 every week which over drew his account and caused all sort of issues for him- these people are sick! Don’t give them your hard earned money- you earned it, they didn’t! https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/03/us/politics/trump-donations.html

LMAO. First you say you’ll move on without him... now, you are using his name and name dropping him every chance you get. How ironic.

Now I want to make a donation for $5 and then dispute it... Costing the campaign $10. Enough do it, and they lose their ability to process Visa or Mastercard. Or they need to change processors to a high risk one, and those fees are in the 25-35% range.

If this is the donations page, it's not there now. https://contribute.nrcc.org/monthly-donation/ don't know if it *was* there and they removed it, or if it's just propaganda.
