US imposes curbs on 7 Chinese supercomputing entities over security concerns

The Biden administration said it has expanded its list of restricted supercomputing companies and government labs linked to the Chinese military. In a statement, the US Commerce Department said sanctions were imposed on those entities whose supercomputing abilities are ’used by China’s military actors, its destabilizing military modernization efforts, and/or weapons of mass destruction programs.’
