In Egypt, archaeologists discover 3,000-year-old ’lost golden city’

Archaeologists in Egypt have announced the discovery of a large ancient city that had lain unseen for 3,000 years near some of the country’s best-known monuments. It is believed to be the largest ancient city found in Egypt, which dates back to Pharaoh Amenhotep III’s reign. The discovery is being touted as the most important archaeological finding since the 1922 discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb.
