Facebook, Zuckerberg sued over anti-Muslim hate speech, violence

Civil rights group Muslim Advocates is suing Facebook and top executives, including Mark Zuckerberg, alleging the company misled the public about how safe its platforms are. The lawsuit blames Facebook for not moderating hate content, alleging ’the anti-Muslim hate that’s pervasive on Facebook presents an enormous problem – both online and in real life.’

Day #15,623 of waiting for FB to take down any of the hundreds of pages openly calling for the murder of Jews, Israelis, apostates and non-believers and hosted by bona fide terrorists.

Wonder when they’ll call for Muslims who call for dèàth to apostates and non believers, support isis linked networks and fundraisers for terror groups on the platform. Oh, wait, nvm, they’re just trying to silence critics of their evil religion

Facebook is an American company. Luckily in america, I hate muslims, is legal to say. As much as I hate Facebook, hate speech doesn't exist in a legal definition.

Speech you hate is not hate speech. Thicken your skin, the world is a brutal place and the civilized world is only a thin veneer over animalistic instinct and carnage.

“Hate Speech” is a scourge on free speech. We should all be allowed to publicly and openly mock, condemn, or criticize any group we want without fear of government.

Dogmatic religious zealots shouldn't have a platform. Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Qanon, KKK, antifa, etc... all of these beliefs are based on a faith in something that is obviously untrue. They should all be disregarded.

What ever happened to the "sticks n stones" generation . Nowadays all we have are overly sensitive thin skinned people. If your offended by words then stay off of social media, that should cut down on about 80% of the traffic

Bets on this being what takes down Facebook. Not invasions of privacy, not censorship, not information selling, but “Islamophobia”.

Normally I would side with the defendant because the First Amendment protests speech, including hate speech. Once FB started censoring content that also should have been protected speech, they took on the role of a publisher and I think they should be sued for failing to treat all 'hate speech' equally. I also think they should now be held criminally liable for anything illegal that happens on their site. They made this bed and now should be forced to lie in it.

Section 230 is what gives these companies protection from this, and because they are protected, YOU get to post whatever doesn't violate their terms of use.
