YouTube takes down Covid roundtable hosted by Florida Gov citing misinformation

YouTube deleted a video in which Florida Gov. DeSantis and some medical experts questioned the effectiveness of having children wear masks to stop the spread of COVID-19. The clip was posted by the American Institute for Economic Research. YouTube said the video violated the site’s ’COVID-19 medical misinformation’ policies.

Great so YouTube is THE expert on infectious diseases?! Give me a break! They denied free speech to a sitting US governor who has more successfully dealt with covid than any other governor and medical experts who were discussing covid 19 protocols! YouTube is part of the facist democrat left.

They said the same exact thing on The Hill and that video wasn't taken down. Seems like a pretty partisan censorship there.

So a corporation is effectivly silencing state govenors that talk about the effectivness of policies. Remember these people you vote in, Youtube is a company that has employees who remove opinions based on their judgement, not the judgement of the elected people.

With every deleted video, banned account, removed tweets, it brings more division than the original statement. CDC guidelines change all the time, what you could be banned for, was true 6 months prior. It is so dangerous to silence.

Medical information from medical professionals is "medical misinformation" what kind of single digit IQ is required to believe that type of bull? You can't block the information from the experts and say it against the experts. I can't even imagine the mental gymnastics required to keep this straight in a single head.

Way more kids die of the regular flu every year for generations. Now we are suddenly forcing masks. Is that rational? Children and young people remain at low risk of COVID-19 mortality

So Google knows wat it's best for us. I get 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 from people and companies telling me what I can an' can't see or hear. There should be real freedom of expression.

It's pretty simple. Stop spreading misinformation and your videos won't be removed.

If YouTube is the absolute authority on what information is and is not accurate about Covid then they really ought to share their expertise. Until then an open forum is best to let ideas stand or fall on their own merit. This is why YouTube should be categorized as a publisher.

Economics is not an area of study that has any relationship with health. It's frankly disgusting that we allow capitalism into our medicine.

Squeezing that grip for wrong think. The double standards and hypocrisy, again, is very apparent. Just like those doctors who they censored, who happened to be correct as time passed.

I agree with youtube on this one. Mr. Governor of you want your video to stay on the site stop spreading lies!

Considering Clarence Thomas's recent decision. I wonder if the state of Florida suing YouTube, would be picking up by Scotus. People were trying to argue it was wrong for Trump to ban people when he was president. It should be wrong for YouTube to ban government figures. If they want section 230 protections they should agree to be a common carrier.
