This heroic LEO made the ultimate sacrifice serving his community and protecting others! I cannot state this strongly enough! I would like to point out that I have read from various sources that Private Security staff were also shot. Where is the recognition for these individuals? They were, no doubt, unarmed. Are we going to hear about how many people were saved by their actions? It's a safe bet the answer is no because the press will not cover that at all! As a man who for many years made his living in Private Security, mostly unarmed, I often say "We are the first responders before the 'first responders' arrive on the scene." It is a little known fact that at the very least there were 11 on duty Private Security professionals who lost their lives in the 9/11 attack. This according to the website for Summit Security which had on duty employees in both the World Trade Center towers 1 and 2. Please don't forget us who work in the business of protecting others who are virtually not recognized at all!
