Brooklyn Center mayor fires city manager over fatal police shooting of Wright

Brooklyn Center’s Mayor Mike Elliot has fired Curt Boganey, the city manager, after an officer fatally shot Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old black man, with gun instead of Taser. Boganey and Elliot both appeared at a news conference over the shooting. At that time, only Boganey had the power to fire police officers. Later in the afternoon, the city council voted to give Elliot control of the police.

Here is a quote "Brooklyn Center city manager is FIRED by mayor after calling for 'due process' for cop who 'accidentally' killed Daunte Wright" Let that sink in for a second, especially if you live in America. And before the typical reactionary keyboard warriors come in hot, no one is saying they shouldn't be punished or jailed, but that they deserve a day in court. Even nazis got due process.

How about a class teaching their officers the difference between a gun and a taser. Pretty sure at least some has a difficulty distinguishing between them.

Excellent move. Now get rid of Qualified Immunity and the Police Union if you want to improve things
