Graham calls Biden’s Afghan troop withdrawal plan ’disaster in the making’

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) criticized President Joe Biden’s plan to withdraw all US troops from Afghanistan by September 11. Graham warned that such a pull-out would be a ’disaster in the making.’ In a statement, he said a full US withdrawal from Afghanistan is ’dumber than dirt and devilishly dangerous’ and will be akin to ’cancelling an insurance policy against another 9/11.’

Afghanistan is a disaster that was made long ago. It is the physical embodiment of the back hole of the planet.

The troops have been there for literally 20 years. Graham acts as if sending them there wasn’t a disaster. Bring them home.

It's one of the most mineral rich areas in the world. If you can stabilise the region. It could give the west independence from Chinese rare earth minerals.

Forgive me for not being geopolitical literate but what would happen if U.S. pulled it's troops from middle East and sent them to some central/South American countries. In this argument I'm basing it on the goal of getting rid of cartel and such groups, and for sake of argument I'm also applying that the U.S. had gotten through the right procedural channels to do so. If there are so many people fleeing because of gang violence and such seems like a big enough issue for some military force from somewhere to deal with. I don't see it ever happening

Getting out of this forever war is something we should all strive for. That said, I doubt Biden will actually go through with it the same way Trump and Obama didn’t. We have been “pulling out” of the Middle East just about as long as we have been fighting there.

Why yes, The Establishment and status quo of thses multinational corporations wants to continue to uphold War. It's not just Fox, CNN and NBC all have invested interests in keeping the narrative that war is good. Across party lines, the average American voter agrees with pulling our troops out, kids are stationed with their parents in this 20 year war with no clear objectives..

Graham can't lose with this comment. If the situation normalizes and things calm down no one will remember the comment. If thing do blow up Graham will be seen as prophetic and if he runs for the Presidency he will say 'I told you so.'
