FBI remotely deletes backdoors on Microsoft Exchange servers secretly

The FBI deleted thousands of web shells installed by cybercriminals on hundreds of Microsoft Exchange servers across the US, the Department of Justice said. The FBI launched the operation without telling the admins after a Houston court authorized the agency to ’copy and remove’ backdoors from hundreds of Exchange email servers in the country. The DoJ described the operation as a ’success.’
