GOP offers $650 billion infrastructure proposal as counter to Biden’s $2.2T plan

Members of the Republican Party are planning on offering an infrastructure bill of their own, worth about $650 billion. The White House and congressional Democrats are instead, keen on going ahead with President Joe Biden’s $2 trillion-plus spending plan. The GOP has complained for weeks that Mr. Biden’s ’American Jobs Plan’ spent well under half of its money on infrastructure.

Or you can reopen the economy as soon as the majority of the US is vaccinated... Not like the unemployment rate is so high because of normal economic conditions. Spend money on infrastructure, yes. It's severely lacking, but don't make it into a permanent jobs program.

infastructor is a no brainer for investment, it makes transportation easier saving money for those who work and for businesses that use it to transport goods

One day my savings will pay off as great kindling at this rate. What's another 2 trillion on top of a 27 trillion dollar debt.

Thank God Republicans weren't around when the Founders wrote the Bill of Rights. They would have made a counter proposal for two amendments instead of ten.

IT will turn out to be a waste of money

The GOP have no right to complain now, if they had fully backed Trump then they would have a say in infrastructure spending. But now they have Biden and the Democrats in the drivers seat. So they have to buckle up and hope they don't drive into a ditch.

Michael......that only makes sense if your only concern is the amount spent rather than what it is spent on.

Half of 2t is 1t, not 650b. If repubs want to genuinely counter with a 1t plan, then they can go right ahead.
