Kim Potter appears in court for manslaughter charge in Wright’s fatal shooting

Kim Potter, the ex-policewoman charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, made her first court appearance. The judge, Paul Scoggin, didn’t ask Potter, 48, about the shooting or her intended plea, and set the next court date for 17 May. Potter is now out on a $100,000 bail bond. She claimed that she mistook her gun for a Taser in the shooting.

Upon reading the Minnesota statute for that charge I got to disagree with the charge. Doesn’t meet the elements.
