First-ever human-monkey hybrid created in embryo experiment

Scientists have grown human cells in monkey embryos in a laboratory, in a study that has spurred a fresh debate into the ethics of such experiments. The embryos, known as chimeras, are organisms whose cells come from two or more ’individuals’, in this case, a long-tailed macaque and a human. The work could pave the way in addressing the severe shortage in transplantable organs.

Oh yes. China will be able to stop using the Ughur population as organ farms and now just grow human monkey hybrids and use them as organ donors.

It’s come to my attention that most of the people in the comments don’t know what they’re talking about bc they’re not scientists. As a geneticist this is a great discovery and will save lives.

If this saves lives by making it easier to grow human organs in a lab instead of relying on organ donors, then please, continue researching how to save lives

They want to harvest Organs? but if its half human than it gets human rights. So its just the same as human organ harvesting with extra steps.

Scientists seems to not have asked, themselves if they should. Keep messing with nature and nature will make us pay.

"Sorry monkey boy, somebody needs a heart" So when they harvest these organs is it murder or animal cruelty? 🤔 Maybe it is 🙈🙉🙊

So we mix humans with monkeys and then cut the hybrids up for organs... This is our "woke" future we're heading into?
