WHO chief warns Covid-19 infection rate approaching highest in pandemic

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the head of the World Health Organization, said new Covid-19 cases per week has nearly doubled globally in the last two months and is now approaching the highest rate seen during the pandemic, so far. Tedros, said cases and deaths are ’continuing to increase at worrying rates.’ Several countries across the world are currently witnessing a new wave of coronavirus cases.

Notice how the talk has gone from 'hospitalization and death counts' to 'infection rates'? For over a year now I have been saying the same thing. Infections without hospitalization or death don't concern me because that means that people got over it, like most other vital diseases. Do we worry about infection rates each year at flu season? Most people don't realize that there are 30,000+ deaths each year from the flu. We didn't fret over those things before and we shouldn't now.
