FedEx gunman’s family claim they ’tried to get him help he needed’

The family of the gunman who killed eight people at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis has reportedly apologized to the public. His family claims that they tried to get 19 year old Brandon Scott Hole help prior to the shooting, for which no motive has yet been given. ’Our sincerest and most heartfelt apologies go out to the victims of this senseless tragedy,’ a statement from the family read.

The sad truth is we should have a way of not distributing guns to people with mental illness, but if we had that type of system it would ultimately be corrupted and used against people, people in power would use it against their enemies, similarly how social media silences people they disagree with. History proves that people exploit these regulations for their personal vindication thus making it more difficult to put sensible changes in place. It’s a vicious circle.

What is truly sad is the cost to have provided the needed mental health treatment would have been a minute fraction of the expense this situation has now incurred.
