Oxfam calls for global tax hikes for the world’s richest

A new report from the charity Oxfam suggests that the world’s 26 richest people own the same wealth as the poorest half of humanity. Oxfam urged governments to hike taxes on the wealthy to fight soaring inequality. As per the report, just one percent of the wealth of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos was the equivalent of the entire health budget of Ethiopia, a country of 105 million people.

Idgaf about 26 people owning more than 50% of the population, that is a meaningless statistic. I am to be taxed more in Australia because Africans that can’t feed their 5 children already have a 6th? F**k off!

Lefties decry the poor paying more tax than the rich. The US has solved the problem since more than 44% of Americans pay no federal tax. Yay for us???

I work for a moving company. I made 27kish last year. About a 3rd of my taxes are coming back. want to know why people get rich? they work high paying jobs. they invest. me? I dont, I invest a little. Money makes money... taxing the rich does nothing because the govt wastes most of it anyways. Leave people to what they rightfully earned...

This is not the 1st time Oxfam pushes their radical political agenda. It's not a mere charity.

Everyone needs to pay taxes. Whether you are rich or poor. TAXING THE RICH MORE DOESNT SOLVE ANYTHING. It just creates MORE poor people.
