Chinese scientist who gene-edited babies fired by university

A Chinese scientist who allegedly created the world’s first ’gene-edited’ babies has been fired from his job at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Shenzhen. He now faces prosecution for violating state regulations. This comes as state media on Monday confirmed the birth of twins nicknamed ’Lulu’ and ’Nana’ who have allegedly been subject to gene-editing technology.

Not sure why this is news... yes it’s human experimentation but if everything worked out for the children I don’t see a problem. This could literally be used as a preventative measure for many disorders and disabilities if they can work this out.
