Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says that a system with billionaires is ’immoral’

During a MLK celebration, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez was asked about the current economic system in the US, and the number of billionaires while people were still poor. Rep. Ocasio-Cortez said that systems that allow the coexistence of billionaires and the poor is immoral, but that the rich were not necessarily immoral themselves.

Today its Billionaires, tomorrow its the upper middle class. So if I do well in life making good decisions like investing money, try to set my kids up financially, and then they use that to become wealthy, its wrong? Does this mean I'm a bad person now in AOC's eyes for wanting my family to prosper.

A world that tries to control and dictate to people what they can and can't do is even more evil.

Love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. But having it isn't immoral. They earned it or inherited it, usually the latter but still. Though I will admit billions is more money than an average person would know what to do with.

Ironically CNBC is the only article that accurately quoted AOC. When you have a system that allows billionaires to get richer while the poor get poorer that's a big red flag. It means exploitation, corruption, and collective bargaining rights are not being recognized.

This really isn't news. She's a socialist. The only noteworthy thing about her, which I appreciate, is that she makes it harder for socialist to hide their extreme beliefs behind flowery phrases.

On a whim I googled Her name + charity. There was a lot about a charity stream that she made an appearance (not donating to) on. Then there was some stuff about donating TO her... I guess we only need to start distributing the wealth when the government forces us to.

Billionaires create more jobs and pay more taxes than any other demographic by far. Red Cortez is smearing the very people who would end up funding her socialist fantasy.

I didn’t realize hard work was immoral; excuse me while I go inform everyone who keeps everything running smoothly enough for you to complain that they are now horrible people for doing so. Seriously though, billionaires are not the biggest issue in the world, especially since they tend to spread that money around (whether by paying employees, buying more expensive items that others could never afford, or through giving to charities) I doubt calling them out as “immoral” (or a system that allows for such, since it tends to be a wide goal for a lot of people) is going to get you very far.

In hers and my lifetime that has been proven to be true. Why allow people to become billionaires when most aim to hijack the Democratic process to further their fortunes and control over others. The billionaire class have written our laws for profit and imprisonment. We have the data to prove that without a doubt. The true reason a majority of Americans are misinformed and frankly manipulated to control public opinion to ensure the American people CONTINUE to worship money and people with lots of it. That way the billionaire class can start wars and cause global destruction all while their very own citizens "think" their military is "spreading" democracy around the world. In the meantime the purposely dumb down US citizen is complaining about NON EXISTING problems like immigrants and boarder walls. Blaming the poor and immigrants has been the wealthy's motive for centuries. So in short....she's RIGHT! Only because people are corrupt and those same people NOW control our ENTIRE system. It's going to get rough going forward. If we let the rich continue to lead we will all parish based on the leading scientists reports. Or people can rise up and take their countries back! Take control from the rich and give it back to the people who actually CARE about others...THE CITIZENS.
