Venezuelan President Maduro says he is breaking off relations with the US

Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro said Wednesday he is breaking diplomatic relations with the US. Maduro said he would give US diplomatic personnel 72 hours to leave the country. His comments came close on the heels of a declaration by opposition leader Juan Guaido proclaiming himself interim president. President Trump formally recognized Guaido shortly after his announcement.

"some nobody", oh crap that's me! When was I recognized by the U.S. as president of Venezuela?!

It's quite obvious that America is trying to assist in a coup of Venzualan government so that they can have access to their oil-based economy. Maduro, while incredibly flawed, was voted in twice in one of the world's most vetted electoral systems that even President Carter praised. This opposition leader really is "some nobody," but news sites don't care because they all love war because it sells. Can't wait in fifteen years until we pull another Osama and go in to kill the dude after we supported them in a coup, pretending we never supported them, and constantly destabalize a region for profit.

Just keep our nose out of it, let the Venezuelans handle it for better or worse. If the US gets involved it will be for the worst.

We need to stay out of it. The US has a history of screwing things up, the State Dept just needs to tell big oil to go stuff it.

Although I disagree with you Twain that we have a history of screwing things up, I agree with you that we should stay out of the situation. There is no reason for us to get involved. I think the only thing we should do is just don’t show support to their current president.

"We love the people of the United States, and we love the people of the world. Venezuelans have that in their blood. How can Venezuela be a threat to a military, economic and industrial power like the US? That's a question that we all ask each other here. How can Venezuela be a threat?" - Vladimir Padrino López, Venezuela's Minister of Defense
