Venezuela’s Maduro orders revision of diplomatic relations with US

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on Tuesday he had ordered a ’revision’ of diplomatic relations with the US. Maduro said he would announce new measures in the next few hours. Maduro was responding to comments made by US Vice President Mike Pence who gave his support to Venezuela’s opposition while calling Maduro a dictator.

We’ve followed Europe and Canada’s lead in recognizing the opposition leader as the true president of Venezuela because his people are sick and starving but he refuses medical and food aid from the rest of the world. Plenty of countries have offered plenty of forms of aid and the only aid he will accept is military aid from Russia, China, and Iran. Maduro is a terrible criminal and belongs six feet under for what he has done. To the loony socialists trying to blame America for this because your ideology is more important to you than the lives of the innocent I offer one sentence in rebuttal to your conspiracy theories: when you set out to deny the truth, you see anything proving you wrong only as evidence that the conspiracy goes deeper.

And, you know, the rest of the international community are also recognizing him as president.... but muh blame America for every other country’s problems narrative. So we won’t be talking about that.

Maduro needs to fully realize what he has done and admit he has lost much more control than he thinks. Won't doubt that he will fight to the end.

Not really surprising. The current US sanctions are destroying their economy, the US intelligence agencies have been trying to take control of the country for decades, the US just tried to kill their leader and stage a coup. You would need to be mentally unstable to ever think the US would want to resolve the conflict through diplomatic relations. So why even bother.

As he should. The United States is supporting an immoral and unethical campaign of regime change.

Maduro believes himself to be perfect. Never wrong. Chances are he’ll have to be removed by force.
