US will begin sending some legal asylum seekers back to Mexico

The US government will return the first group of migrants seeking asylum in the US to the Mexican border city of Tijuana on Friday. The Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) will return non-Mexican migrants who cross the US southern border back to wait in Mexico while their asylum requests are processed in US immigration courts.

Look at this paragraph from the Box article, totally contradictory. Seriously Vox, just close down already. "The administration was originally planning to issue a regulation — which would have gone into effect immediately — to formally implement the policy. It now appears that it is going to move forward without one, which could make the policy more legally vulnerable but could also make it harder to challenge"
