’Very hard’ to meet Biden’s pledge to resettle 62,000 refugees: Blinken

’Very hard’ to meet Biden’s pledge to resettle 62,000 refugees: Blinken

Antony Blinken, the Secretary of State admitted that it would be ’very hard’ to meet the 62,000 refugee cap pledged by President Joe Biden. He blamed the earlier administration, and said that the refugee system that was in place when the administration came in lacked ’the means to effectively process as many people as we hoped.’ Mr. Biden said he would keep this fiscal year’s refugee cap of 15,000

How is our president taxing us more and favoring south Americans more than united states citizens? I am sick of this president who hates his country.

Since the previous administration hadn't planned to resettle that many, this should only surprise the less intelligent. Instead of blaming the previous administration, it would have been more honest to say he overestimated and will try to meet his pledge the following year. It would be TOTALLY honest to say that he only made the promise to get elected.

Acknowledging and talking about imperfections is one thing; actually doing something to correct those imperfections seems to be the missing link.

We are on the same moral plane as China according to this administration. We should be apologizing to the world. Yeah, this is fine.

According to Biden's administration they can't do something he said he could? That's odd... Considering he initially agreed not to change it from the prior admin decision, and only increased it after the far left threw a temper tantrum. I except nothing less from the tool.

15,000 minimum is going to be the problem indeed. Why not just give them citizenship with the agreement to vote for the system that's got them where they were invited. On the US taxpayer fine that is.

Let's get this straight. well over 95% of these people are not refugees. They are economic migrants. The red states should completely refuse to house these migrants. Republicans want the wall built and do not want these migrants in the country in the first place. It is wrong that any red state should be forced to use up their resources in terms of schools and housing by taking in any of them. Let the blue states house them since they voted for Biden and his stupid open borders policy. Personally, I think Texas should have refused Biden's order to stop building the border wall. They should have continued paying for it since this would benefit everyone in Texas. It would have been a small expense out of the Texas budget with a massive benefit.

Silly logic. The situ at the. Order was doing very well until Biden opened the flood gates, How is that Trumps fault? Take responsibility for your actions Biden.

there is a reality that immigration has been a part of this country forever. refugees are basically those with out a country or a place to return to. we dont choose which countries alienate its own people, but if you truly believe they are coming here to vote and live off the state. you dont understand what it takes to vote as an immigrant, live here as a person with no skills and just how poor the people in their countries are.
