The captain of a Bangladeshi aeroplane is believed to have had ’an emotional breakdown’ before the deadly crash in March 2018. 51 people died when US-Bangla plane swerved off the runway as it was landing in Nepal’s capital. Investigators noted that the pilot became ’emotionally disturbed’ during the flight because he thought that a female colleague questioned his ability as an instructor.

a huge part of this is due to the fact that pilots function off if next to no sleep. Most often they will fly a plane for 13 hours, only to turn around 6hours later fly again. This is a huge problem globally and has been for a long time, though rarely addressed because it's it makes the flight companies liable. in summary, the lack of sleep that a pilot is forced to endure between flight will eventually result in situations like this
