US college official who told Chinese students to speak English quits

An official at the Duke University School of Medicine stepped down, a day after she was denounced for sending an email saying Chinese students should speak English on campus. Megan Neely resigned from her position as director of graduate studies for the biostatistics master’s program. The dean reassured students there is no restriction on the language they choose to use on campus.

After reading the article, it seems like a case of the messenger getting shot. The teacher didn't seem to be saying anything out of unkindness- rather the opposite, of warning students who may be unknowingly getting targeted by the bias of others and missing out on work opportunities. Makes sense that the university would want to pin it all on her though, rather than investigate any truth to her concerns for those students.
