Thousands show up to honor Air Force veteran at his funeral

Thousands of strangers responded to an appeal to attend Monday’s funeral for an Air Force veteran from Texas who had no family members to see him off. The Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery appealed for supporters to attend the funeral of Joseph Walker in a Facebook post. Reports indicated some 5,000 to 6,000 vehicles were in line to get to the cemetery.

Where were all these people when he lived and they might have made a difference? He gets nothing out of this except for the notoriety that he had no family or friends while he lived. I'm sorry, I am just disappointed in the people who attended just so they could feel good about themselves.

very sweet an honourable! but it's makes me sad that elderly without family are buried with nobody coming. a small charity like that would be sweet, not only for soldiers but also elderly. we are social beings. we should look out for each other.
