At least 40 killed, 850 detained in Venezuela violence

The UN said Tuesday it estimates at least 40 people have been killed in Venezuela’s recent violence, including 26 shot by pro-government forces. Separately, 850 people were detained between January 21 and January 26, including 77 children, some as young as 12.

People had been dying every week in Venezuela, but now that the world's attention is set on the is that media reports death toll. Same as Yemen, 2 years in a massive civil war and only up until 4 months ago is that people started to hear about it.
