Brutally-cold temperatures to sweep across parts of the country

A surge of arctic air is expected to bring parts of the Midwest the coldest temperatures in years by the middle of this week. The National Weather Service said in its forecast the air will inundate the Northern Plains and Great Lakes, bringing wind chills as low as -40 degrees in many locations. Cities such as Fargo, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Detroit will see the brunt of the cold.

Amazing that Chicago could get down to a windchill of negative 45 degrees, yet still doesn't beat the coldest day on record (-27 degrees, with -87 degree windchill; Jan 20, 1985). Imagine that for a second.
