Mariah Carey defies activists to perform in Saudi Arabia

Singer Mariah Carey went ahead with a performance in Saudi Arabia, despite activists’ concerns over human rights abuses in the kingdom. Carey performed, along side DJ Tiesto and dancehall artist Sean Paul, at the King Abdullah Economic City. She is the first international female artist to perform in Saudi Arabia since restrictions were lifted on entertainment last year.
