Hundreds of immigrants turn up for fake, ICE-issued court dates

More than 1,000 immigrants showed up at courts across the US on Thursday for hearings they’d been told were scheduled but didn’t exist. This comes after ICE agents began issuing seemingly random hearing dates last year. While immigration attorneys knew to double-check, immigrants without representation were left in the dark. The ICE said it was working to issue proper ’Notices to Appear’.

Evidently, the Trump administration is either completely and utterly incompetent at even the most basic of governance tasks, or it is being intentionally and illegally cruel. Or both. Probably both.
