Half of US adults have heart or cardiovascular disease

A new report by the American Heart Association said Thursday that nearly half of all US adults have some form of heart or blood vessel disease. It estimates more than 121 million adults had cardiovascular disease in 2016. The report highlights that heart and blood vessel disease is linked to 1 of every 3 deaths in the US.

Bet big pharma paid for the study, drugs that fight the chance of stroke and heart attacks are big money. And there are a lot of boomers to push these drugs on.

Or you could be like me and have genes that make your body create a tonne of bad cholesterol, have to be on drugs which send your blood pressure through the roof and have a family history of dying from heart attacks. For people with risk factors like that, statins are as important a discovery as antibiotics. For people who have just raised cholesterol and nothing else, then you need to treat so many of these people to stop one major event that you're going to cause more harm through side effects. It's all about selecting your population.
