You know what, he’s not the smartest guy in the world, but he’s likeable, seems rational and can maybe improve political tension.

Is he a Republican or Democrat? If he comes out as a Republican he won't get another Hollywood job. If he comes out as Democrat he stands a farts chance in a Texas tornado of winning. If he runs as an independent he's a spoiler and nothing more.

Could you imagine this guy becomes Governor, Representative and then Senator, I could just imagine this guy starting his Fila-buster speech with "Alright, Alright, Alright "

Personally a huge fan. His book gave great insight into his life and the way he thinks. Very rational, very personable. Not the “rich and famous actor” - very humble and keeps to his roots. When’s he was on the road for movies he tended to live in trailer parks with his dog and drive to wherever the role was. I think he’d be a great person to bring a new perspective to politics. Many love and respect him., he wouldn’t do it for money or a career but rather to instill the change he actually wants to see (which we need more of). Same reason he’s a professor at U of Texas - to give back Only worry would be the terror of politics will lead to him becoming a enemy. Seems as though the game of politics would out him or anyone with a different point of view.

As long as he’s for the people, and doesn’t become corrupted by big money or the swamp, I’m all for this.

That’s because Americans are stupid. They assume high visibility, usually poorly educated celebrities and who are completely out of touch with reality because of their wealth, are competent people. I’m no lover of pols but next to most celebrities they are intellectual giants.

He'll be among the long list of celebrities with the gubernatorial feather in his cap. The real question, of course, is... Can he effectively govern the state in a manner with which benefits the people?

I like Abbott and I don't know much about McCaughey other than he is an actor and I am relatively sure I spelled his name wrong because I can't be bothered to look it up.

Given he's one of the most apolitical celebrities out there as far as I'm aware, and is willing to see both sides of something, it would only make sense that if he did run, it would be as an independent.

I've heard he is a total wack job but people thought Trump couldn't win presidency and we've had other celebrities (Arnold) in political positions before so it's entirely possible. America is dumb enough that's not even an issue.

Hope he runs as independent. I'd vote for him and hope that he relieves some tensions.

Good numbers until he would reveal what his policies are, always need to think about that.
