Taliban attack kills at least 26

The Taliban launched a pre-dawn attack on an army base in northern Afghanistan on Tuesday killing 26 members of the security forces. The Taliban stormed the base, located on the outskirts of the provincial capital, Kunduz city. At least 23 soldiers and three members of the local police force are among those slain.

The Taliban were about to do peace talks with the Afganistan government before the US said they would permanently occupy Afganistan. Funny thing is the US was the one who originally funded and trained the Taliban, at the time they were called the mujahideen, to get the Russians out of Afganistan.
