Russia jails Jehovah’s Witness for six years in extremism case

A Russian court on Wednesday found a Danish adherent of the Jehovah’s Witnesses guilty of organizing a banned extremist group and jailed him for six years. Armed police detained Dennis Christensen, a 46-year-old builder, in May 2017 at a prayer meeting in Oryol. Russia’s Supreme Court later ruled the group was ’extremist’ and ordered it to disband nationwide.

It's a cult not a religion, talk to someone who has left, their family can no longer associate with them.

I disagree with the theology of Jehovah's Witness, being a Protestants, but that is ridiculous. They outlawed an entire religious group??? Do they really hate people ringing there doorbells that much??

the Witnesses are a cult, and an abusive cult at that. Not all of them are bad people, but not all of them need to be. Ditto the Exclusive Bretheren.

Well if he is anything like the Jehovahs I've met he's certainly not dangerous! (Wasn't Prince a Jehovah?)

So Washington Post thinks the first Jehovah's Witness ever arrested in Russia is a "crackdown on religious freedom" I'd say the Americans constant war on Muslims is a crackdown on religious freedom. But what would I know, I'm an atheist.

All religion is crazy, causes nothing but war and hate between opposing religions. Like Ricky Gervais said "If it was against the law to teach anyone religion until they turned 21, how many religions people would there be?"
