India tops fake news menace globally

A survey by Microsoft covering 22 countries shows that Indians are more likely to encounter fake news than the global average. As many as 64 per cent of Indians surveyed have encountered fake news as against the global average of 57 per cent. The survey warned that ’Social circles became riskier in India’ with a nine per cent increase in family and friends spreading online risks to 29 per cent.

Sounds to me like Microsoft is upset that India might have a lot of honest independent coverage that can't be controlled to a narrative it likes. Poor Microsoft, poor giant international conglomerate. My heart bleeds for them.

Don't think you've seen any fake Indian news mate. You have to be dumber than a hammer to believe it. And that's kind of why it works. Targets the loonies in the bunch that can hardly read anyway. Quite a bit of those around in that part of the world.
