Immigrant families sue US government over border separation

Lawyers for eight immigrant families separated at the border under a government policy have filed claims against the US government, demanding $6m each in damages. The parents accuse immigration officers of taking their children away without giving them information, sometimes without even a chance to say goodbye. The lawsuit claims the children remain traumatized.

So the government is doing is job against ILLEGAL immigration by making "attempting to sneak into the U.S. so uncomfortable that fewer people would attempt it" as per the article. What is wrong with stopping people from BREAKING THE LAW. How can you possibly sue for "distress" when you are willingly breaking the law of the land you're trying to illegally enter. If this happens, then every attemped illegal entry would just file a lawsuit. This is just another in the long list of negative press stories to drum up support from middle and upper middle class white-guilt liberals against the current government. No one seemed to care when the great Black Democrate Hope's government was doing this, funny that.

😂😂😂 You 'an't be serious... Why 'on't they sue the government from their native country for making life so intolerable that they have "o "flee for their li"es" ... That lawyer Stanton Jones is just looking for $ and publicity... Even if you a'en't a fan of the Trump administration and its policies ( I fall into this category ) you are delusional if you think this nonsense h'sn't gotten out of control... the Dems are pissed because we sent aid to Venezuela ... they 'on't actually care ... its all a show and we know what for.

That’s kinda ironic, the whole reason they are separated is cus America was sued for keeping the kids with the parents, thus incarcerating kids.

DON'T FUCKING DRAG YOUR CHILDREN INTO A FOREIGN COUNTRY ILLEGALLY AND EXPECT FREE SHIT, AND YOU WONT BE FUCKING SEPARATED FROM EACH OTHER. It really is that simple. Just... Stay in your own fucking country.

It's kind of a smart move, given the anti-Trump media environment. It would've happened sooner if the media did their job and labelled Obama the separater-in-chief as well as the deporter-in-chief, since this happened under his watch too.

As often the case, Thomas Sowell can be quoted to put things into perspective : Immigration laws are the only laws that are discussed in terms of how to help people who break them.
