Pat Shanahan in Iraq to discuss US troop presence

Pat Shanahan, the acting secretary of defense, arrived in Baghdad to consult with American military commanders and Iraqi government leaders on the future US troop presence. Shanahan said he wanted a first-hand account about the state of Iraq’s fight against the Islamic State group. The US has about 5,200 troops in Iraq.
