McConnell promises a vote on Democrats’ Green New Deal

Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell said on Tuesday that the US Senate will vote on a ’Green New Deal’ introduced by Democrats. The initiative was unveiled by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Edward Markey. McConnell said he hoped the vote will ’give everybody an opportunity to go on record and see how they feel about the Green New Deal’.

I really believe in the environment and I love nature but if this passes I’m afraid the country will fall apart and be sent into economic crisis and it makes me feel terrible

There's just no way this is gonna get passed in the Senate since the Republicans obtain a majority which I'm grateful for.

This is a bad idea for Republican leaders to push, since a majority of Republican voters support the Green New Deal, but their politicians are bought by fossil fuel industry lobbyists, so they will vote it down in the senate.
