Senate votes to advance Attorney General nominee William Barr

President Trump’s attorney general nominee, William Barr, could win confirmation in the US Senate as soon as Wednesday. The Senate on Tuesday voted 55-44 to advance his nomination. A corporate lawyer, Barr has previously served as attorney general under Republican President George H.W. Bush in the early 1990s.
