Australia to reopen island detention center for refugees

Australia will reopen a controversial detention center for asylum seekers, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Wednesday. This came after the opposition Labor party and independents dealt a blow to the government voting to amend hardline immigration laws to give doctors the right to transfer detainees from two Pacific detention if they need medical treatment.

And we had just closed the bloody things down... if only Labor hadn't voted against the Coalition then it might have stayed that way. And you KNOW that Labor is going to blame this squarely on the Coalition as well which will help them win the election.
