Anti-Semitic crime rose in Germany in 2018

Media reports Wednesday in Germany showed that preliminary government figures indicated 1,646 anti-Semitic crimes registered in 2018, up from 1,504 in 2017. Violent crimes rose to 62 from 37. Germany’s Central Council of Jews is calling for action following the report. Chancellor Angela Merkel’s office issued a statement saying ’anti-Semitism has no place in Germany’.

Note that the german police has a tendency to ascribe all anti-semitic incidents where they don't know the perpetrator as coming from "right wing extremist" sources.

Who would have thought that allowing millions of people who believe an ideology which openly promotes hatred of those who don't share the ideology might lead to an increase of hate crimes against non-believers?
