China, US start trade talks ahead of tariff deadline

US and Chinese negotiators began trade talks Thursday hoping to find common ground ahead of the March 1 deadline before the two nations introduce another round of tariffs on each other. Trump, on Tuesday, said he might let the deadline ’slide for a little while’ if talks go well.
