SCOTUS doubts ’green cards’ for some protected migrants

The SCOTUS on Monday appeared reluctant to let people who have been allowed to stay in the US on humanitarian grounds apply to become permanent residents if they entered the country illegally. The court heard arguments around the ’Temporary Protected Status.’ There are about 400,000 people in the US with this status, which prevents deportation and lets the immigrants work legally.
