US industrial output tumbled 0.6 per cent in January

US industrial production fell 0.6 per cent in January. The decline was driven by an 8.8 per cent decline in motor vehicles and parts, with assemblies falling from the best pace in more than two years to the weakest reading since May. Capacity utilization decreased to 78.2 per cent from 78.8 per cent.
