New York City places a temporary cap on taxis, Uber retaliates

In an apparent attempt to reduce congestion, New York City has placed a cap on the amount of taxis and ride-share vehicles allowed to operate. Since Uber and Lyft have begun operating, wages have gone down for taxi drivers. Although the cap is supposed to be a temporary measure, NYC mayor Bill de Blasio has a long-running opposition to the company, and Uber is suing them, hoping to overturn it.

I wouldn't go that far but NY's definitely needs to be scaled back. Too much corruption.

Maybe the cab companies need to work on their failing business model instead of stifling these ride hail compnies.
