Arizona man rescued from quicksand at Zion National Park

An man in Arizona was rescued Sunday, hours after he got his leg stuck in quicksand and was forced to wait out a snowstorm at Zion National Park. The man and a female companion were hiking the Left Fork Trail in the national park in Utah when he got his leg stuck in quicksand. His friend then hiked for three hours until she had enough cellphone service to call 911.

Quicksand is really a misleading term. The liquid sand is slow, so I question the intelligence of the person to allow themselves to get stuck.
