Alabama woman begs to return to US, says moving to Syria was a mistake

With US-backed forces closing in on ISIS in Syria, a young woman, identified as Hoda Muthana, is pleading for an opportunity to return home to her family in Alabama. Muthana was quoted saying she realized she had made a big mistake and ruined her future including that of her son. Muthana left Alabama four years ago. She then spread IS propaganda online, calling for attacks on Americans.

Why would she want to go to such an intolerant, racist, islamophobic cou try? She should stay where she is.

Anyone thinking it's a weird coincidence(or something more spooky), that all of a sudden a lot of these ISIS jihadi foreign fighter women wants to come back? I believe there's some kind of plan that is being executed now that ISIS has been "beaten" in the middle east.

At least she says she regrets it. Let her pay the time in jail, and give her a second chance.

What are the chances that she is playing a role to allow her to return to the US under the guise of remorse and panic? Even if she is genuine at the moment, can we trust that someone that holds/held extremist ideals will stay loyal to the citizens they used to condemn?

No this woman should not come back to America let her deal with the consequences of her actions. She knew what she getting herself into and she wants to come back. This woman is an idiot.

Clearly her parents never taught her that choices have consequences... Now I don't refuse forgiveness for people that have made mistakes but I do ask that they pay for them. for good or ill she chose this so she needs to make the best of the life she chose for herself.

If she admits to her serious mistakes and is willing to deal with the consequences, then I am fine with this.
