Jim Steinman, Grammy-winning lyricist, dies at 73

Jim Steinman, the Grammy-winning composer who wrote Meat Loaf’s smash-hit ’Bat Out Of Hell’ debut album as well as several hits for Celine Dion and others, has died. He was 73. Steinman’s brother Bill Steinman told AP that his brother, who was ill for some time, died Monday from kidney failure. Steinman, who was born in New York City, was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2012.
