Applications for US jobless benefits fell to a low 216,000

The number of Americans filing applications for unemployment benefits fell last week, but the four-week moving average rose to a more than one-year high. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 23,000 to a seasonally adjusted 216,000 for the week ended February 16.
