Australia says coal holdups at China ports are not a ban

China and Australia on Friday denied reports Australian coal was being blocked from entering China. China is Australia’s biggest trading partner and coal is Australia’s most valuable export. Industry experts noted recently that China appeared to be delaying customs clearances for Australian coking coal. A report late Thursday indicated that ports in the city of Dalian had banned the shipments.

Australia is in a world of hurt. All the pressure on governments to expand a socialist agenda has to be based on revenue. Australia bet on the deal with China to ensure that revenue would be available for 10 years. Unfortunately most of that revenue has been spent on frivolities and buying the electorate. Civil unrest is looming large down under.
