South Korean court rejects sexual slavery claim against Japan

The Seoul Central District Court rejected a lawsuit by victims of Japanese wartime sexual slavery and their relatives, who claimed compensation from Japan. Among the 20 plaintiffs, 4 were women forced to work in Japanese military brothels. The decision, which align with Tokyo’s arguments, is based on principles of international law that keep countries outside the jurisdiction of foreign courts.
