Judge dismisses charges in 10-year-old boy’s decapitation on Kansas waterslide

Criminal charges have been dismissed against a construction company and the owners of a Schlitterbahn water park in Kansas City after a 10-year-old boy was decapitated while riding a 17-story waterslide there. The court dismissed the charges on the basis that evidence ’improperly influenced’ the jury’s decision to hand down indictments. Caleb Schwab died while riding the slide in 2016.

Sounds like the prosecution fucked up in so many fronts, to the point of making it look like they sabotaged themselves. - They used a non-factual dramatization from the Travel Channel as evidence to "inform" the jury. - They accused the park of not following a regulation that was only put in place a full year after the accident. - They used an unrelated 2013 accident at a different park, to demonstrate a systematic problem.
